Shinji is such a beautifully tragic character that is eternally relatable to so many different people from different walks of life. His sadness feels so real rewatching it again, and I canβt help but tear up whenever I think about him. He really is just a little kid, barely a teenager, thrust into a world where people expect him to be his best; better than them! And, I love Misato, but she is just like the other adults in this series. Ignorant to caring for Shinjis feelings. Canβt really blame her though, sheβs in survival mode.
