The Dungeonrunners Dilemma

If you're new here, or have been living under a rock, you may not know that one of the flagship series I've been working on is called The Dungeonrunners -- it's a World of Warcraft-themed story about five dickgirls who do dungeons together, and then... y'know, fuck. You can find it all here. People liked this series so much that I've even had offers to commission whole new chapters of it, changing the series from a specific commission to more of a community project that anyone could have a hand in. Most recently, I started a sort of "crowdfunding" attempt here on Patreon so that people could chip in small amounts and still get a new chapter funded.

There were a few problems with this.

1. Payments had to be done over PayPal. While long-time commissioners aren't bothered by this, some people didn't like it.
2. Some people outright didn't trust me to follow through without some kind of organized system that forces me to.
3. To my knowledge, such a system doesn't exist (Kickstarter and GoFundMe don't allow porn).

We did end up getting a new chapter using this method, but it wasn't because the donations I got were sufficient to cover the cost the story's production -- it was because there was another benefactor who covered the remainder of the cost.

That person is now not currently with us, and I cannot rely on him to fill that role.

With this being the case, it's extremely unlikely that attempting to crowdfund this will work. At the same time, however, I realize that people really liked the story and really want more installments of it. This brings me to the Dungeonrunners Dilemma -- how do I make this happen?

I've come up with some possibilities, but I'm not really crazy about them. So I'm making this thread to share those thoughts and hopefully hear yours as well.

1 - Pilot Poll -- I could attempt to create a poll where people cite how much they'd be willing to donate, giving different number values. If we get to a high enough amount, everyone cashes out and production on the new chapter begins. This weakly attempts to circumvent the possibility of people shelling out money, only for an insufficient amount to be raised for the story to even begin. It does not, however, answer the issues with people disliking PayPal or not wanting to donate anything until they have a finished project in their hands. This is clumsy but, if it worked, it'd work the best.

2 - Monthly Rig -- Include Dungeonrunners in the monthly short poll on Patreon. Pros are that it circumvents all these issues completely. Cons are that it will probably always win, denying me the ability to work on other smaller projects rather than just the same thing all the time, which is a great element of what keeps me sane. It is possible that I could only include it every few months, though.

3 - Secret Cabal -- Form a coalition of people who would be willing to commission it, but can't afford to do it all at once, and create a semi-organized union. This doesn't work much differently than regular crowdfunding, but it IS more stable and would allow more creator control for a smaller amount of people. And it sounds the coolest.

Those are my thoughts for now. Share your thoughts or suggestions in the comments and maybe we can get this thing figured out.
