Rallying Cry - let's get me out of here! Fundraiser for a not-homeless Lexi!
Added 2023-09-20 16:47:45 +0000 UTCHello, tentacles! I come to you with an update, a road ahead, and a call to arms.
A lot of you are familiar with my current living situation, but for those who aren’t, a quick recap – in April my roommate ditched his lease on our apartment and left me in the lurch. I was unable to get a new apartment due to not being “properly” employed (I do this for a living, after all, and the paper trail on being a professional smutstress isn’t very promising to landlords), and after some frantic scrambling, I am now basically homeless. I live in a small, unfinished shack without running water, heat, insulation, or any power beyond what I get from the solar panels I managed to buy before my exile. Hence the various breaks and pauses in my workflow, however urgently I’m trying to fix my endless problems as they pop up. My standard of living is extremely poor, and I’d really love for that to change. Winter’s coming soon, and I don’t want to be here when that happens.
Okay, now that we’re all up to speed! With the housing market… not being great, I’ve given up on the idea of getting a new apartment entirely. It just doesn’t seem plausible from the starting point I’m currently at. I’ve set my sights on the next best thing – a camper. Initially, I’d thought that purchasing a camper or RV was also a total no-go, on account of me not really having any credit, but older, cheaper campers pop up on marketplace for fairly reasonable amounts… the kind of amounts that could be semi-quickly raised, with some help. Through all this, I haven’t really asked for charity (and in some instances, rejected it outright), because this simply wasn’t a problem that could be solved by throwing money at it. Now, however, it is.
Even if I have to just park it where I am, at first, a camper will provide a dramatic increase in the stability of my living situation, giving me a better vantage point to kick off from (and ideally not die when winter hits). If I find a campsite with power/water/etc. then we’re really cooking with gas. I don’t see a better way forward than this one.
With all that said, these bad boys (the cheaper, shittier ones, anyway, which is good enough for me for right now) range between two and three grand, which is more than I can magic up on the spot. That’s why I’m here – this is a sort of call to arms, a fundraiser, to see if I can ditch this shack before the cold hits. I still don’t plan to ask for charity, though, at least not purely. I wanna offer some incentive.
In any donation you make, add some sort of note, or send me a private message so I know who you are (unless you want to be anonymous for some reason, in case the rest of this won’t apply, I guess). Half of any money you donate will go towards a commission of your choosing, which I will follow up on as soon as I’m stable enough to have the chance. You can add to the word count later if you want, but the donated amount will be set in stone, owed to you, should you wish it.
100% of all donations will go to the camper and only the camper. My PayPal email is ravynsland@gmail.com, but feel free to DM me with a desired alternative if you don’t like that, and I’ll try to make it happen.
We’ve gotten this far together… let’s get me out of this place.
