The Princess might already have used the ice fruit and be golden core when he meets her again.

There are only 42 Nascent Soul experts, who are currently alive, in the entire Empire — and that’s including hidden masters, ancestors in seclusion, etc. There might be about 15-17 in Spirit Severance. As for Dao Formation? Counting the Emperor, probably 5. The distribution gets skewed because the more advanced cultivation people stick around for longer.

Yes, she absolutely wants to control his resources (for his own good, of course — for they would be better utilized promoting her to Golden Core and beyond). And her pitch definitely had “layers” — which included some subtle implied threats. She also implied other scandalous things (relying on rumors of Jiang Li’s prostitution escapades, no doubt). The questions to ask are: what can we infer about her personality, psych profile, and motivations based on what we’ve seen so far? 😋

2025-05-30 07:06:35 +0000 UTCHmm. This Elder is too bold. Not sure if I like it. The way she’s saying “catalysts” and “inspirations” is she implying we should give her things? Like our second Fifty-Thousand-Year Nine Nether Snow Lotus? We know she has some sort of spy or at least gossip network ongoing for a fact, since she discovered Jiangs special constitution almost immediately after it manifested. Does she also know about that lotus? Her offers wording is suspicious and even the timing is suspicious. What does she mean by “regrettable” consideration? Is she implying that unless we become her apprentice and give her things for free she’s going to make sure everyone knows about Jiangs martial training thing and she’s going to make life hell for him? Is this a “gotcha” moment by this Elder? If so, truly an iron fist in a velvet glove. Truthfully, in that case, Jiang can hardly turn her down. Giving her a treasure to compensate for a rejection would make her believe that he has dozens of more treasures and she’ll want more. If she somehow becomes convinced that we have endless resources then she probably will want to ride our free resources all the way to nascent soul. Bad thing? Not necessarily. But the thing about people who threaten so casually and subtly (if her offers wording is even a threat) is that they are typically willing to go from implying to outright stating and then if that doesn’t work, then following through on it. For all the people who want a relationship with her. Sexy is sexy and crazy is crazy. One must never stick their dick where both are true and that is undoubtedly the case here. Who even tries to flirt a prospective student into an apprenticeship? The only plus for this apprenticeship is high leveled qualified belief and Jiang quite literally has an imperial source and a golden core source that will be providing that in the near future. Its already turned him into a talisman grandmaster and given him a cultivation boost to the 9th stage of Qi gathering. More is better, but at what cost? She seems more like a calculating kind of cultivator not a genuine good spirited master. What impact will that have on our freedom of movement? Can’t tell right now but I think going to the sect and staying there could quite literally slow down what I see as an eventual takeover of the entire province by Jiang. Having unlimited resources and becoming the literal equivalent of a billionare cultivator in a complete backwater naturally leads in that direction. To be honest joining her could also lead in the other direction and hasten it. Not sure, but who knows. The story is leading in exciting places. Can’t wait to find out.

Perhaps his value would increase yet again to the imperial princess, who could shield him with dibs for a time. I think it’s inevitable for him to turn the elder down somehow,. Unless she is completely hands off she would be an early shackle.

He can become her personal disciple on paper, but he should "inform" her (aka manifest belief) that he actually has access to even better resources and knowledge than she does. He can then start revealing his absurdly advanced formation/inscription skills and then "reveal" (aka manifest) his ability to produce just about any alchemy product imaginable with absolutely no impurities or side effects. He can then proceed to reveal that his own cultivation is advancing so fast that he will soon reach and surpass her own level, allowing her to claim that she was the teacher of the greatest cultivation genius in history. The backing of her sect is genuinely valuable, but he should make it clear that she is getting the better end of the deal because he has more to offer than she does. His ability to enhance and accelerate her own cultivation should be emphasized so long as she keeps his secrets and fully supports him. He can even offer one of his fancy frost fruits to her. Having her on his side as another steady source of high-quality belief, especially if he helps her reach golden core with a flawless golden core, will be extremely valuable. It also might be very interesting if they entered some kind of romantic relationship with each other. Sexy is sexy, and she is pretty dang sexy. P.S. He needs to reach foundation establishment ASAP. He should fake going into closed door meditation to make his breakthrough and then exit after about three hours (to be believable) claiming he finished. That should be enough since he has the cultivation concealment technique and already established with his cousin that his cultivation is advancing at the speed of gossip. He can ask her to guard the door while he "meditates" so that he doesn't have to go find her to tell her. He can also mention that since his spar with her and experiencing spear intent, he has achieved his own spear intent and that within the next 24 hrs he should have completed mastering intent for every weapon type and even punching and kicking intent. I'm sure he could convince her.
