New Auralnauts Podcast!

Hey everyone! Check out episode 18 of the regular Auralnauts podcast. Craven and Zak both went to see Alita separately. They wanted to talk about their thoughts so bad, but decided it might end up being a good topic for a podcast. Hope you enjoy it!

Stay tuned for more episodes of the regular podcast and Excelsior.

Love,

Craven + Zak

I love hearing Craven get wound up about technical stuff like the Personality traits not lining up with what he did, and the 4th wall breaker of the imperial March in Solo. But on a more serious note... The opening track to the sock defense grid, and the spooky stories, And the TRUwood Jingle. I'm down for another Auralnauts live stream or even a Reddit AMA. I love how responsive and engaged you are with your fanbase, and it's never a dull moment in any exchange.

I laughed SO MUCH listening to this. I have a shirt signed by Tommy Wiseau because he does an annual screening and Q&A of The Room in the cinema I have a lifetime membership of called the Prince Charles Cinema in London (it's like £50 for an entire lifetime of discounts, hell yeah). He showed us the trailer to his new film when I was there and it was so awkward in the room (pardon the pun)

I'm late to this, but I eagerly await your "Top 10 Auralnauts members" video.

(dont read this if you haven’t seen it) I’ve never seen or read anything about Alita before this so I don’t know how the original story is or how it ends but I personally feel like I was just robbed of two hours after watching the movie. I really loved most of it and up until the end the only issue I had was that the events in the beginning of the movie roll on a little too fast to feel natural, but really that was only a minor problem. The ending really grinds my fucking gears though because I feel like I just paid to see 90% of a film. Imagine if ROTJ ended just as Luke was about to head up to face the Emperor. What pisses me off the most is that I really enjoyed most of the movie and I thought I was gonna walk out of the theater with a new favorite ”cyberpunk” movie. I just got blueballed hard by this movie and I’m pissed.

I saw Alita on early release and it was just way better than I was expecting. The overall tone of the movie was a bit confusing given it was essentially an R-rated Pixar movie but once you got your head around that I found the emotional appeal to be quite well done. Compared to the anime, which was pretty mediocre in both dubbing and overall plot, I was really impressed with how much they managed to pull from the source material. The only real negative I have about the movie was anti-climactic ending. They really could've done with some kind of monologue speech to cue the viewer in that this was actually the end of the movie. Also was not expecting THAT cameo either.
