Dear Patrons,
As always I hope this post finds you well.
I wanted to put out a small update in the midst of my current preparations. These preparations include all the things stated in my last message. I've been experimenting with some Tales of Zale lino prints for the art raffle I mentioned, and I've made good progress on a new livestreaming setup that should help to showcase some more of my process as I get into the nitty-gritty of producing ToZ episode 3. Speaking of which, I've of course been at it with that one as well. I've been re-visiting the animatic once more, polishing as usual. I hope to keep at it like this a bit into April when I arrive at Open Workshop and can get things properly kicked off with the new work-space and all.
While doing these things I've been back in Viborg. I participated in 3 weeks of final lectures, had my exam and finally graduated a little over a week ago. Since then I've been participating in the Animation Sans Frontière, as I had an opportunity to join in on the part of the course that takes place in Denmark this year. It's been very inspiring, and I've gotten to look a bit at Tales of Zale's pitch through its lens. Bits of progress all over!
There's still one week left of ASF and then I'll be going back to Copenhagen for a little while. Prepping continues!
Before I'm off again I'd like to share my progress on the Episode 3 scene 4 animatic that I previously shared. I feel like my progress on this does well to represent the overall evolution of the animatic. I tried out a few new things in this version: I've played a lot more with cutting on the eye-focus and keeping movement directions between shots. It can still do with some more polish, but there's a lot of ideas I like in this version. It's also become a bit shorter - some of it because the first minute of the episode has seen some changes as well. I will probably share the new version of that before too long as well.
Till next time, all the best!
