I don't actually know if she intended it this way, but I thought it was clever that tornado warnings was only said a couple of times at the beginning. Almost like she intentionally was ignoring the tornado warnings/red flags the rest of the song.

She said "This was based on a true story where I was in the middle of a park on a seesaw with someone that I shouldn’t have been with and then it started to hail and then I got a tornado warning on my phone and ignored it. The next day I had therapy, and I completely did not tell my therapist anything because I was afraid that he was going to be mad at me.”
