Chapter 4 will be released today

I’m finishing the last details of the built and will probably manage to release the new update sometime in the next 3 hours, unless there’s some unforeseen problem.

Chapter 4 is called “The calm before the storm” and is the biggest so far.

Chapter 1: ~7000 lines of script; ~710 images.

Chapter 2: ~7200 lines of script; ~630 images.

Chapter 3: ~9300 lines of script; ~540 images.

Chapter 4: ~15000 lines of script; ~1120 images.

Of course, due to alternative paths and scenes, you’ll only see some of the content, but it still should feel like the biggest chapter until now.

It’s recommended that you make a copy of your save when starting the new update, just in case there’s some issue. It was a pain in the ass to test that big of a script and it’s possible that I’ve missed some errors. I’d appreciate if you told me anything problem you might find.

Release timeline:

The update will be available first here on Patreon for tier 2 and higher patrons. After no major problem is found (or corrected), the game will also start to be on sale on itch.io.

At that point, I’ll try to figure out the best way to handle to everyone that has pledged at least a total amount of €20 an itch.io key, so that you forever have access to all future updates of the game, even if you stop pleading on Patreon. That should be easy, but I still need to figure out how everything works and how to automate the process.

Two weeks after release, the game will be available for tier 1 patrons and I’ll start with the usual polls to check which in-game options/paths you have been taking. Having an estimate of how many people are taking which paths really helps me to understand what is working better or worse, so everyone is encouraged to participate in the polls.

PS: If anyone is considering pledging to get the new update, please make sure to pay attention when Patreon will bill you. If you pledge when Patreon considers it to be the 1st of July, you won’t be charged for the month of June just because of a few hours.
