Hashirama gave her a sickly smile and conjured a flat platform with a raised table fit for a small delegation to sit at. He looked at the two armies, clearly considering speaking as to their presence.
Madara agreed. He cut Hashirama off because it was better to act first rather than have to follow the other’s actions. “Priestess, today there will be no blood,” he said. He still had his Sharingan active. He luxuriated in the time it gave him to examine her microexpressions. He had pleased her. “With your leave, I will have them return.”
“It is still Friday,” the Priestess said approvingly. “If they left now, they could be back in time to do a half day.”
He waited for her to say something that made a little more sense. She did not.
…Madara nodded. By her tone, that was agreement. He ordered his army home and sent Hashirama a smug smile for having gotten to it first. They left with military precision and perfect discipline. Madara preened a little.
He didn’t even need them, he tried to project. If the Senju attacked, he and Izuna and their patron goddess would handle it. He could remain here with fifty scruffy Uchiha and no fear because he was simply superior.
Hashirama put a hand up tactically and actually stuck his tongue out in return. Madara spluttered with offense. Hashirama cut him off by raising his voice.
“Tobirama and I will remain,” Hashirama declared to his sad little troupe of traveling performers. “Anju-san, I entrust the lead to you.”
Madara scoffed to show that he didn’t care. He looked away, turning his gaze to the pavilion where they would no doubt have a very unique discussion.
