AEW has too much money and talent to be at the trajectory they're at 5 years after inception. I guarantee you an HHH or Regal would have them in a position right now where they'd be doing 6-10k weekly in smaller markets and 10-15k in bigger markets for every weekly TV taping, and the ratings wouldn't be steadily declining. Just look at what they did with WWE after they got rid of Vince. AEW suffers from the same problem WWE under Vince did - the show is booked for an audience of one.

2024-06-29 16:53:15 +0000 UTCI just don’t understand why they didn’t wait to run the KIA forum for blood and guts. It’s not like it hasn’t done big business in a big city before. Hell you could’ve held this in Chicago and it would done 6k at least. I was confused about this decision the moment it was announced and is emblematic of the weirdly defensive and conservative booking of venues for AEW shows. They do best in big cities, but you see them going to these secondary markets and old WCW small towns and draw 2k for a taping when you could do 4-5k in Philly or San Francisco

Definitely a bad market for blood and guts. The correct market would've got them more of that 7k-10k type of number
