🗒️ | This map got crazy a few days ago. And it's changed even more since then. Honestly, I have no idea what they are doing with those upper decks because it appears based on the pattern of available tickets, very few tickets have been distributed up there. See below for the screenshots of those sections. I do not know how much of the hard cam has been opened either because they opened the actual hard cam section (101). I assume 118 & 119 have been opened but I never saw 120 or 102 open. If they end up occupied, I'll add them to the count later. Sections 137, 138 and 139 also appear to be partially opened. Very difficult to work with. We usually only see this with the shows not doing so well.

The screenshot above is of sec 222, 223 and 224. The pattern looks predictable; first 5 rows opened and then every-other-row is opened. But not a single seat looks to have sold there yet (if that pattern is correct and those in-between rows haven't been comped). In the sections next to it, a few seats are gone. The same pattern holds for the other upper decks. A few sections over though, they only have the first 3 every-other-rows opened.

If you were to show me that clip where Jon enters the arena from attendance entrance and said he showed up at an indie show, I would have believed you.

James

Yeah, that was 2k. Great show, but it felt like 2k in a 16k building.

Will

Grand Slam Australia tickets are available and AEW decided not to advertise this fact

I don’t know if it’s real, but supposedly there’s a news channel that advertised this show and had Cody Rhodes on posters, mainly due to using first AEW poster. It’s still weird but I guess that’s on them. Anyway, they advertised there and still this amount of movement hurts. Wonder how the image looks.

James

Thank you for working so hard at this, Tix

I think the problem is the hook isn’t as strong as say WM40 aftermath. Cody winning the belt in which was held by Roman, a man who held it for over 3 years. Compare to Bryan winning a belt from a man who held it less than 6 months. Plus WWE knows how to make them a staple character. Look at Roman now. It’s amazing. I think AEW’s problem is he doesn’t know how to highlight them as a major deal. Some argued Swerve as good as he is as a performer felt like a guy who happens to hold the belt. Also there’s a saying the ticket sales reflect on captivating story/character and often the champion has to carry that. I don’t like to point finger but this is what has been said. I don’t know if AEW is too late to be the big time and accept as TNA tier or low bar WCW (attendance wise) or they can pull off a miracle. Hoping WWE falls under won’t happen any time soon.

James

But I told ya’ll months ago that AEW was ice cold.. but I didn’t think this cold though.. barely over 2k in a 15k+ arena.. the talent goes from 50k in England to 2k & change here in America.. that has to do something to morale cause nobody likes to perform in a 90% empty arena..

And he doesn't care, he came from working in front of far less than 2,500 before WWE. He left WWE to challenge himself as a pro wrestler, he was offered a new contract to stay in the comfort zone but rejected it.

Ricochet goes from sold out RAW’s to Dynamite which maybe will get to 2500 but probably not for their show after their “WrestleMania”..

I wonder if there are a lot of comps for this show, being TK's hometown. It was very odd in the how normally they lower prices a week or 2 before when a show is struggling and on this one I never did see it come down in price at all.

KT

Can I ask why this show is not on the spreadsheet? I recall that someone said only ticketmaster shows were on there and wanted to make sure.

Jared Davis

The fact that you continually associate pro-wrestling attendance numbers with a (juvenile) term for delayed sexual gratification is certainly a choice.

Elliott Tomes

It’s blue balls for everyone…

James

The decision to open up any second/third level seating when the first isn't sold out is very odd to me. Even if you discount per section and isolate a specific amount for the student seats, having more filled lower where you can control the camera shots and create an illusion of more people is better than having them all spread out.
