They ended up selling just about every ticket they put on sale for this show. It might not be "good" but it's the expected number. Again, the number in WA is worse than this show, even if they sold like 200 more tickets. That was Dynamite. A go-home show. With Bryan. In Washington. Context matters. That number was more disappointing than Collision in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with no card until 48 hours prior. I went to a WWE house show in this building two years ago that Roman headlined and there wasn't a hell of a lot of difference in crowd size. It was a fun show tonight, by the way!

I have a feeling if they’d announced some bigger names for this show, or announced really anything before two days ago, they’d have got more people from Des Moines to make the drive over.

2024-10-26 15:01:18 +0000 UTCanyone who thinks this number is really bad hasn’t been following AEW too closely. Given their current market power, this is about as expected. This is the B show and had nothing announced until two days ago. They’ll have over 1,500 in the building. Dynamite in Spokane did just 1890 two weeks ago. That was the go home show for the PPV and had freaking Bryan Danielson on the show, in his home state! This is an okay number for Collision in the Midwest. They also booked this show with an Iowa Hawkeyes football game happening 20 minutes down the road. It’s a good arena that has been hosting wrestling TV and PPVs for over 30 years. It will look good on TV. Dynamite with bigger names would have drawn a little better. It’s a perfect sized venue for AEW right now.

2024-10-26 14:57:21 +0000 UTCIt'll have more than the Collision residencies. But the residencies were perfectly scaled while this isn't. However, this isn't in such a huge arena that it'll look as bad as it could otherwise, as evidenced by hardcam side seats being opened. They also had some level two camera tickets on sale and some sold before they took them down.
