This is going to be a bit of a lengthy post, so skip to the bottom if you just want to cut straight to the chase. Those of you that want the whole skinny, keep on keepin' on; We'll try to keep this entertaining.

Here we go:

We've been slowly tweaking our reward tiers over the last few weeks in preparation for a more all encompassing overhaul of our home here on Patreon. Some of you may have noticed that you're now getting access to things that you hadn't had access to before and that was purposeful in testing the waters to see how things would go. That was PHASE 1 of our 3 PHASE plan and PHASE 1 went pretty well. So now we are continuing to PHASE 2. What is PHASE 2? This post is PHASE 2. PHASE 2 is very phasey.

With PHASE 2 we're refining our perks to the things that YOU enjoy while having the aforementioned perks be possible for US to fulfill in a reasonable time frame while simultaneously sunsetting the rewards that are less valuable to you and labor intensive for us. We set our handsome minds to the task of figuring this puzzle out and we think we've cooked it down to just the right amount of Diet Mt Dew with as little celery as we could muster. No one likes celery. Quit living a lie everyone.

Before we jump into that, allow us to suggest that most if not all of you aren't here for any of the perks. Sure, a web chat here or a follow there is a nice gesture from the VoicePlay fellas, but knowing the kind of people you are, if we never fulfilled another perk again (not that we'd DO that) you'd probably keep on supporting us because that's just the kind of selfless, wonderful folks you are. WHY you support us at all is and has been baffling to us since day one, but we take your support very seriously and we would never ever ever take you for granted.

NOW let's jump in. Here's what we're thinking, please let us know if anything here looks wacky.

That's it! Pretty good, right? Some of you may have noticed that we've retired a few things from the reward levels and you're right.

From the $1 Tier, we're closing the Secret Instagram. While it IS super fun, it's become problematic to keep track of who should and shouldn't have access to it. The general public figured it out and we keep getting requests from the non-patreon folks out there. So rather than cross reference names against usernames for hours on end, we're ditching instagram in favor of a private discord server. It'll be more fun, we promise.

From the $10 tier - We're sad to say that props and costumes have gone the way of the dodo, ONLY because it's a violation of Patreon's terms and conditions to do any kind of lottery type giveaway. We tried coming up with other solutions to this conundrum, but were ultimately unsuccessful. You guys probably didn't want Earl's sweaty shirts anyway... In unrelated news our office is a little smelly.

From the $25 tier, the voicemail greeting perk is now removed because while it seemed like a fun idea at the time of launch, the harsh reality of writing and recording hundreds of unique voicemail greetings over the last few years was a little um... mind numbing. Those of you that have them, you're should feel EXTRA special because you're the last folks on Earth to receive them. Unless we change our minds :).

The free album perk has also removed from this tier because it seems to us that the length of time between album releases makes this particular perk less wonderful than we wanted.

Postcards, too, are gone for the time being until we can figure out a way to make using the US postal service less eye-roll inducing. They do their best over there at the old USPS, but it's a train wreck if you have to send anything internationally.

From the $50 tier, we've tweaked the personal video perk. Rather than us just sitting down and saying a "hello" to you, you can now use this perk to have us wish your nephew happy birthday in a video, or tell your parents happy anniversary, or whisper good night to your kitty cat, the sky's the limit. The catch is that you'll have the responsibility of letting us know when you'd like this perk fulfilled. Believe it or not, keeping track of who is supposed to get what when is one of the more confusing parts of patreon and there are A LOT of you to keep track of. If you're keeping track of yourself, it just makes our lives easier. Thank you for making our lives easier. We heart you.

From the $100 tier, custom songs have been removed from the rewards. We did, in fact, WRITE a couple of these songs, but actually rehearsing them and recording them kept getting pushed further and further back because of so many things. That being said, We ARE going to fulfill this perk to anyone who met the pledge requirement but only as an audio recording. We hope that's ok. So... yup. Upcoming.

That's it for the lousy news. Glad that's over with.

That brings us to PHASE 3. PHASE 3 is where you come in. We'd love to get your thoughts on these changes and while we feel pretty confident that these shifts are going to be for the good of everyone, if you feel strongly otherwise or if there's a perk you think would be a good fit, please let us know. Also, We'd like to roll out PHASE 4 of our 3 Phase plan sometime in July. Just in case you were wondering.
