Hi Dick, for a faster and safer execution of swaps of ERC tokens, e.g. USDC to ETH, I suggest your friend to use a decentralized exchange such as Uniswap. You simply connect your wallet via the Metamask extension of your browser, and sign with your hardware. Easy and fast. You might need to adjust gas fees when the network gets congested. A DEX is fast when you need it to be.

Thanks for the update guys. The one big problem with having an open order all the time is that you have to keep your crypos on an exchange with necessarily means you have surrendered your private keys.
