Pitches wanted for reported pieces | $1-$2 per word

We're looking primarily for reported pieces (more so than columns, takes, etc.) that wouldn't ordinarily be covered by one of our writers on staff.
Our freelance pay varies depending on a bunch of different factors, including difficulty/extent of reporting and experience of the writer. From what I've seen, our magazine base is around $1/word and it can go up to $2 for a heavily reported magazine feature, but could also be lower for a digital quick hitter.
