Added 2020-03-12 15:58:21 +0000 UTCNARRATIVELY IS LOOKING FOR SUBMISSIONS / PITCHES FOR ITS NEW THEME: MUSLIM IN AMERICA.
Deadline: 31 March 2020
We're currently seeking submissions and pitches on the following theme:
MUSLIM IN AMERICA
Weβre seeking pitches for stories that show the diversity and complexity of the Muslim-American experience. We want to share stories that upend the stereotypical, one-note portrayals of Muslims in most mainstream media outlets, and spotlight people who are breaking ground in a new industry, field or community. Whether thatβs the first Egyptian-American to serve in an all-white fire department; a young Muslim woman breaking into the competitive video game scene; or the wealthy Jordanian socialites who rule a ritzy LA suburb, we want to hear more.
For inspiration, feel free to review some of the stories in our Muslim in America series:
- Inspired by Black Lives Matter, This Masked Man Patrols Under the Cover of Darkness
- The Brooklyn Fashionista with a Hijab for Every Occasion
- Whatβs a Nice Jewish Boy Like You Doing at a Mosque Like This?
Weβre seeking both reported profiles and #ownvoices memoir pieces here.
