The Genetic Literacy Project (www.geneticliteracyproject.org) [division of the Science Literacy Project] is a web-based non-partisan nonprofit seeking an experienced grant writer to identify funding sources and lead/supplement our fund raising application efforts. The GLP is dedicated to improving understanding of science and biotechnology, with a focus on medical genetics, gene therapy, bio-pharmaceuticals, sustainable agriculture, synthetic chemicals, GMOs and gene edited crops. It is the most-read online resource on biotechnology, with 55,000 daily readers, and strives to be a resource for the public, media, researchers, policymakers and regulators.
The GLP has traditionally accepted funding from foundations, associations and individuals. We want to broaden our financial base of support as we look to expand our educational influence online and in policy circles. This job offers significant flexibility, allowing you to work from home.
Salary: Dependent on experience/expertise. Knowledge of biotechnology helpful. Extra value put on those with experience raising funds for science-focused organizations.
