We  have an immediate opening for a contract writer to join our team on a  potential long-term basis to develop beginner-level non-fiction finance  and investing books.

If hired, you will work directly  with a subject matter expert, who will ultimately be credited as the  author of the title, and a project manager, who will keep the project on  track and will also provide editorial support.

Contractors will be hired on a per-project basis with the possibility to complete additional projects in the future.

PROJECT DETAILS

• Beginner-level target audience, full-length nonfiction book, approximately 85,000 words in length
• Potential title-length topics include: day trading, forex trading,  options trading, swing trading, futures trading, cryptocurrency
• Duration: 5 consecutive month timeline from outline development to finished manuscript
• Fixed price payments delivered at designated milestones throughout  the project. Full contract price to be discussed with qualified  applicants.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work directly with project manager and subject matter expert to develop a high-quality book
• Meet all project deadlines
• Follow strict brand style and format guidelines
• Effectively develop the voice of the subject matter expert throughout the book
• Attend multiple video conferencing meetings throughout the project
• Stay organized, follow guidance, and produce consistent work product
• Maintain availability throughout project duration

IDEAL APPLICANTS

• Full-time, professional writer with experience creating and organizing full-length book content
• Impeccable writing skills that demonstrate clarity and detail
• Writing experience related to finance and investing for beginners
• Self-starter, motivated individual who can work independently
• Able to meet aggressive writing deadlines
• Open availability for the next 5 months to complete the project by established deadline
• Hybrid, quick production publication experience is preferred but not required
• Comfortable working with teams remotely

All applicants must include a minimum of two (2) writing samples  that demonstrate teaching a finance and investing topics to beginner.

Salary: $60,000.00 /year

APPLICATION QUESTION:

• Have you written full-length book content before? If so, in what  capacity (e.g. as a ghostwriter?) If so, what was the book? We will give  preference to candidates who have written books before.
• Do you have experience writing about finance/investing for beginners? E.G tutorials, how-to guides etc.

Please ensure you include at least two (2) non-fiction long-form  writing samples along with your proposal. 

We will not consider your  application unless samples are provided. If you are not credited as the  author in the sample, please indicate such.

For each  writing sample you have provided, please describe the project in detail.  What was the nature of the client? Where and when was this sample  published or utilized? Did you write this entirely by yourself or with  others? What type of editorial support was received?
