We are open for pitches, covid be damned. Rates for me start at ~$150 and go up based on the reporting/legwork involved.
I'M BROADLY INTO:
- reporting/interviews
- intersectionality
- labor's impact on pop culture
- stories about the highs + lows of industry biz
- TV/film arguments based in fact and close reading
- counter-intuitive reads
- nostalgia/vintage TV/film, sci-fi + more (pitch your obsessions)
I AM NOT SUPER INTO:
- half-baked or lazy pitches (I wanna buy—but you gotta sell me)
- ideas we've already run (read the site please)
- streaming list pitches (got em covered)
- lists of 10 headlines sent at once (please don't)
- most profiles (for now at least)
If you're a new writer or we don't know each other, please don't be shy, but DO briefly intro yourself and give me context as to your experience.
Include three clips. (Links are fine.)
Right NOW, I am specifically looking for pitches on how COVID-19 has affected the tv/film industry. Send ideas (ideally with a sense of a reporting plan) my way if you've got 'em.
I get lots of pitches and do my best to respond to each one. If I don't reply within the week, ping me! Love a ping.
If it's time-sensitive, I won't hold it against you if you pitch elsewhere—just please tell me when you do that.
Thanks for reading and happy pitching.
Almost forgot! Pro tip for writers: always always always include the word "Pitch:" at the front of your subject line.
