Pitches wanted (music, culture) | up to $150 per piece

We are an independent website covering music and culture in Madison, Wisconsin. We pay per-piece rates for features. The absolute bottom starting point is $80, but that gets negotiated upward pretty fast if the piece is going to require a lot of reporting and/or time-intensive editing. Typically it ends up being around $150. We also have a $25 rate for our (much shorter) event previews, though at the moment there are no live events to preview.
