In light of SARS-CoV-2, we will be slowing its publishing schedule over the next few weeks. Some of us on staff will be collaborating with The Tyee to bolster its coverage of how the disease is affecting British Columbia/the Cascadia region.
Given that, I am now looking for pitches for short reported features (~1000 to 1500 words) addressing coronavirus’s effects on communities throughout BC, the Pacific Northwest, and Alaska.
In particular I am interested in stories that are forward looking: about community resilience, adaptation, and strength.
I'm also interested in stories that fulfill a watchdog role, exposing bad actors in this time of crisis.
Payment is $1.05 CAD per word.
