This is a very quick callout for specific stories while we finish our upcoming July title, Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Dogs. We got so many great submissions for that title that we are well on the way to making our 2021 dog book as well, just with the stories we already have. But we’ve decided that we want to include stories about dogs and the COVID-19 crisis in this upcoming July 2020 edition.

You have one week! The DEADLINE for these extra submissions is this coming SUNDAY, APRIL 19th at midnight, Hawaii time.

Please share with us stories about your dog during the COVID-19 crisis. Some possible topics, but we know you can think of more, are:

Do you think your dog senses that something different is going on?
Is your dog confused by your change in schedule/habits?
Is your dog providing you with emotional support while you go through quarantine, job loss, actually having the virus?
How did you dog react if all your grown children came back home?
Is your dog helping you stay fit?
Is your dog helping you meet the neighbors? Make new friends?
Are you driving your dog crazy with all the increased use of the kitchen?
Has your dog started acting differently due to the change in family habits?
Did you take in a foster dog due to being home?
Did you adopt a dog from a shelter or buy a dog from a reputable breeder?
Does your dog miss car trips?
Has your dog done anything funny?
Has your dog developed any new habits?
Has your dog made any new friends, canine or otherwise?
If your dog is a therapy dog, does he miss his work?
If your dog is accustomed to having a purpose and can’t do that right now, how is that affecting her behavior?
Are you being more lenient with your dog now?
