Pitches wanted for Queer Science series (worldwide) | $100 per piece

June is Pride Month––which means it’s the return of our Queer Science series!
We’re seeking pitches for pieces that explore the intersection of science, gender, and sexuality. Pieces can have a historical or contemporary focus. We pay.
QUESTIONS TO CONSIDER:
- What are the political projects of doing queer science / being queer in science?
- How has pop culture given us ways to imagine queer science?
- How do #LGBTQ+ issues intersect w/other marginalized identities in science?
(Not limited to these!)
If you want a greater sense of the type of work we’re interested in for this series, check out the pieces from our past two series.
(You can also check out our other LGBTQ+ content from elsewhere in the year!)
Again, there are no historical or geographical bounds here. As long as you have an idea that engages with science, gender, and sexuality, you’re welcome to pitch. (Please: no advertorials or outright self-promotion though.)
We strongly encourage writers from marginalized and minoritized backgrounds to pitch. We also encourage newer writers and writers transitioning out from academia to pitch.
READY TO PITCH? GREAT!
- Send your 1-2 pp. pitch, along with any relevant clips NO LATER THAN Wednesday, 13 March.
- Please put “QUEER SCIENCE” in pitch subject.
Series runs in mid-late June.
We can’t wait to hear from you!
