Pitches wanted (labor justice around the world) | $300-$400+ per piece

Julia Metraux is looking for pitches for Narratively:

I am looking for reported stories and memoir pieces that shed a light on labor justice around the world, spotlighting compelling characters with truly unique methods for fighting against gentrification, exploitation and abuse in the workforce at Narratively.

From features about how undocumented workers are mobilizing for their own labor rights, to hidden history pieces about forgotten labor activists, to first-person memoirs from the front lines, we’re looking for stories that spotlight untold aspects of labor organizing.

These stories should highlight the work of lesser-known activists and groups. Like all Narratively stories, they should focus on a central character or group of people, and have a compelling narrative arc.

This Narratively story does a good job of profiling a truly unique character who took on a systemic issue, in this case a rapper who became an unlikely symbol of Catalan independence. It also has a strong narrative arc full of exciting, cinematic scenes: https://narratively.com/rapper-on-the-run/

If you do write about a topic that has been widely discussed, your pitch or story should bring a fresh perspective or angle to it. As I am looking for stories on labor justice, I want working-class people to be central to the story and for the readers to learn about the impact that they make.
