We are hiring a freelance evening writer/ social manager for breaking news coverage and social updates. To apply, please send resume and work samples. News and social edit tests will be required.
- Handle daily Twitter and Facebook promotion for stories.
- Write, headline, and self-publish at least one aggregated news post per evening responding to breaking news in politics, tech, or media.
- Promote all stories on Fridays during the summer, beginning at 1 PM.
- Devise and execute enterprise social projects for tentpole news stories (i.e., Twitter threads).
- Execute plan for making our social feed more responsive to breaking news and trends (i.e., reposting relevant archive stories, resurfacing stories).
- Produce and schedule our newsletter.
- Must be familiar with our editorial sensibilities.
- This is a freelance, remote position. Evening hours are required.
