We're taking pitches!
September's theme is roots, and we're taking a look at the humble beginnings/roots of our favorite artists and their careers.
We're taking pitches from Black women writers at all levels. Email a full draft or a 150-word write-up outlining your piece to nadirahsimmons@thegumbo.net and bwhite@thegumbo.net with "September theme" in the subject line no later than August 7 at 11:59pm. Our rate is $150 for pieces that are between 750-1000 words.
