We’re always looking for writers—especially vets/family members for our weekly Reflections (it’s paid). If that appeals but freaks you out a little, I’m happy (thrilled) to work with you.
We take reflections pieces for veterans, service members and spouses. Those are 1,000 to 1,500 words. They're not opinion pieces—they're essays about something to do with the military or veteran experience. Those pay $300.
We also publish two journalism pieces a month. Those are more investigative in nature, and we love military/vet health-related pieces (particularly, right now, as it relates to the pandemic). Happy to see pitches, and those start at $1,000.
