Pitches wanted (natural world, climate, energy, adventure) | $1 to $1.50 per word for print edition

We are looking for ideas from professionals with a demonstrated ability to write smart, fun, incisive, and well-researched stories for a diverse and politically informed national readership.
For our print edition, our fees start at $1/word for our departments, and in some cases raise to $1.50/word for more demanding features. For our online edition, we usually pay a flat fee of $350 per article, though we sometimes pay more for especially involved assignments.
