We are looking for full-time, professional freelance content marketers. (No moonlighters, please!)

Our ideal candidate has a depth of experience constructing and/or executing content marketing strategies for companies or clients in a wide array of industries. They understand sophisticated content marketing (not keyword stuffing and link spam) and can speak the language of SEO, MRR, and DA/DR.

We need a content marketer who brings a trifecta of skills and experience:

• Mind-blowing content writer
• Keen marketer with deep SEO knowledge
• Kick-ass teammate, communicator, and collaborator

MIND-BLOWING CONTENT WRITER

First and foremost, your role at Optimist is to be a world-class content writer. This means you’re able to research and write *god-damn-that's-good* content on nearly any topic under the sun.

But we aren’t just looking for someone who can string words together. Content marketing is about more than usage and mechanics. Our content marketers understand the business goals and strategy—and how content drives growth.

This means you’ll need to be able to:

• Understand the reader’s needs and empathize with their challenges
• Identify insights and stories that create compelling content
• Identify and explain market trends
• Construct a narrative that connects the reader’s needs to the proposed solution (produce/service) and compel them to take action

KEEN MARKETER WITH DEEP SEO EXPERTISE

Clients hire us to do more than just create great content—they want growth.

Most of the strategies that we execute for clients are driven by SEO. Our content marketers understand how SEO works, how to apply SEO best practices without sacrificing content quality, and how to balance the (sometimes competing) content marketing goals to create *just the right piece* for both the audience and the marketing goal*.*

As a content marketer at Optimist, you'll need to:

• Understand and apply SEO best practices
• Create content tailored to specific promotion or business goals
• Provide feedback, suggestions, and strategy for improving client outcomes

KICK-ASS TEAMMATE, COMMUNICATOR, AND COLLABORATOR

Content marketers at Optimist play a critical role that goes beyond just creating great content that's optimized for goals and SEO.

They're also the hub of each client's content marketing strategy.

This means that in your day-to-day work, you might need to partner with our promotion team to plan the outreach strategy, collaborate with designers to create a kick-ass data visualization, or hand off a polished draft to the client and follow-up on any feedback.

We don't have project managers. Because of our unique collective model, we champion ownership over everything. But that also means that we *expect* and *need* ownership from each member of our team.

As a member of the Optimist team, you'll be asked to communicate and collaborate frequently:

• Collaborate with designers and provide art direction for graphics or data visualizations
• Coordinate with the promotion team on specific outreach plans or strategies
• Direct communication with clients on hand-offs and editing
• Weekly status reports and updates
• Daily-ish task management and project communication via Asana

100% of our net profit is paid out to the team as profit share—every month!
