You will produce written content to support our students as they learn the core concepts of an online intro-level computer science course. You will work closely with our curriculum, copyedit, and production team to provide engaging, standards-based content across concepts such as, algorithms and programming, computing systems, the internet, impacts of computing, and data analysis. This intro-level course will be the foundation for more advanced computer science courses in the future, increasing the likelihood that this role will be needed for further course development.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Write engaging, factual computer science content though concepts such as, algorithms and programming, computing systems, the internet, impacts of computing, and data analysis
Write lessons, assessments, learning objectives and coding tutorials
Utilize instructional practices that foster higher order thinking through real-world connections and substantive conversations that increase the depth of knowledge
Research the latest tech news, practices, and trends within the world of computer science

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience
Experience writing academic content for computer science at the high school level
Experience with online curriculum and/or K-12 educational materials
Experience with one or more of the following block-based programming platforms, such as MakeCode, Scratch, App Lab, Blockly, or Snap!
Knowledge of instructional theories and design processes
Knowledge of learning principles
Excellent communication and time management skills
Able to work well across teams
Commitment to deadlines
A superior command of the English language
