Hey journalists! I'm looking to work with new writers and find stories about people showing up and coming through for animals during COVID-19 pandemic. Ideas? Email me your pitches!
Payment is based on so many variables. I would say, in general, we pay about $1/word for your standard 800-word, desk-reported, digital news article.
For people pitching us for the first time, your best bet is to pitch newsy stories in the 800-word range. We rarely approve features or bigger stories unless we've worked with the writer before and have confidence they can deliver.
