Writer wanted for in-room collateral | $1,000+ project fee

I am looking to hire a freelance content writer to help with a new project in upstate New York. A partner and I are opening an upscale, boutique hotel in the Hudson Valley. We are naming the property after one of the Greek gods and we are looking for a writer to help us create an invented/adapted mythology for the hotel. It is a property with a rich history of its own and we are looking for someone who can seamlessly blend its history with the world of the Greek gods and goddesses.

We want to use this to help give guests a dreamy, almost surreal-like “history” of the property and help set the scene.

We’re hoping to use this mythology as a piece of in-room collateral for guests. We’re thinking this would be presented as a hardbound book that would contain the mythology along with a guide to the property. You would be credited for your work in this book.

For this initial project, we are looking at two key deliverables:

• Backstory/invented mythology of the property (estimated 2,500 - 3,000 words)
• Names for the various areas of the property that relate to the story/concept (estimated ~100 - 250 words)

If all goes well, we’d like to continue to work with this writer over the next two years to develop additional deliverables. We are looking for someone who is comfortable helping us determine what future deliverables might be and realigning expectations if the above word estimations feel very off after you learn more about the project.

This can be a remote job that is completed virtually. We are looking to vet all interested candidates through this form. Top applicants will be asked to sign an NDA and we will then provide much more detail about the project (location, property address, photos, etc. etc.).

We are hoping to review all applicants at the end of the month and reach out to top candidates in the beginning of September.

The rate for this is $1,000 which works out to just over .30/word for the estimated 3,250 words total. If you are interested but would charge a higher rate please let us know.
