I'm looking for pitches for the blog for Native American Heritage Month and Indigenous Heritage Month. Payment starts at $150. Native/Indigenous/First Nations writers, please pitch me.
Yes, you do have to identify as Native/Indigenous/First Nations to pitch me. No, your pitches do NOT have to be tied to this identity (but they can be).
I am primarily looking for pitches for feature stories, opinion pieces, personal essays, and service journalism, related to children's and YA books, the publishing industry, bookselling, librarianship, etc. I am not looking as much for Q&As or profiles; we do NOT publish reviews.
Our blog readership is primarily publishing professionals, writers/illustrators, educators/teachers, librarians, and booksellers/bookstore pros. Your pitches do not need to be about issues affecting books specifically, they can be geared toward bookstores, libraries, etc.
Multiply marginalized writers are absolutely welcome to pitch me and your ideas can be something affecting folks at the intersection of several marginalized identities if you'd like.
You also don't have to rush me. Yes, Nov. is Native Heritage Month but I always want pitches from Native/Indigenous writers and you can pitch me in January or July if that works better for your schedule.
