Remote Senior Copywriter wanted | $50 per hour

This position is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Senior copywriters at Belief Agency are responsible for creating targeted written content for Belief Agency’s clients and house brand. In addition to providing exceptional copy, the senior copywriter is a self-starter, responsible for providing creative, strategic, and conceptual editorial input. This position reports to the Copy Director and helps advance and elevate the work of Belief Agency as a whole.

To be successful in this role, the senior copywriter must be, first and foremost, a storyteller. Storytellers possess a deep knowledge of the client’s brand and mission, but they also know how to clearly and concisely communicate those ideas with an audience. As an ambassador to the client’s brand, the senior copywriter is responsible for providing thoughtful and accurate content that aligns with the client’s brand tone, style, and messaging objectives.

The primary duty of this position is to write and edit compelling, effective copy that supports identified goals and audiences. Additional responsibilities include creative, strategic, and conceptual guidance and story development for high-profile content projects in collaboration with leads from creative, strategy, copy, design, and accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Translate brand beliefs and values into an external voice that’s contextualized for their audiences and informed by the marketing strategy
Ensure a strong, recognizable, and relevant brand tone is communicated and executed across all marketing touchpoints
Ensure messaging is consistent and integrated across all campaigns such as digital, social, merchandising, and product
Act as copy lead on high-touch projects, taking responsibility copy from start to finish
Conduct research and interviews with key stakeholders to use as a foundation for developing work
Participate constructively in creative collaboration with designers and other teams to align brand messaging across disciplines
Pitch work to clients and interact with clients during meetings
Manage multiple projects at once and switch between them seamlessly
Peer review copy generated by team members and offer feedback and edits when necessary
Write error-free copy that meets the client’s needs

QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of experience in a writing role; journalism background a plus
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field; relevant experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may substitute for degree
Mastery of grammar, punctuation, and spelling; broad vocabulary to draw from
Proven experience in developing targeted messaging for a wide variety of audiences
High degree of organization and prioritization to manage many projects simultaneously
Motivation to meet deadlines; ability to effectively balance competing deadlines and priorities
Receptive to feedback; eager for growth opportunities; positive, can-do attitude
Ability to work autonomously, without oversight or supervision; ability to work well as part of a team
Keen eye for details; ability to diagnose problems and develop solutions
Ability to act on information in the face of ambiguity and make appropriate decisions based on relevant information and experience
Experience conducting journalistic interviews and knowledge of interviewing principles a plus
Proficiency working within style guides; deep knowledge of the AP Stylebook a plus
