In issue 1, we collected "dispatches" from protests around the world. For issue 2, we’re looking for short (max. 500-word) reflections from from educators, education workers, and students of all kinds:
What does the current crisis look like in community college, technical school, law school, med school, elementary school, college, pods on yachts in the Carribean—for essential workers and childcare providers, in reopened schools, and over Zoom? How is the situation reflecting our idiosyncratically American attitude towards school? What does education look like abroad in this strange season? Will Covid-19 exacerbate existing inequalities, or is there time to reevaluate the education system, and the role it plays in our lives?
What might the public not know, expect, or assume about your job and daily live during the pandemic? What can your experience and insights tell us about the broader situation we're confronting?
These can be submitted in written form, or delivers in an "as-told-to."
For these very short (less than 500-word) dispatches on education, we offer $50.
