Arkansas Soul is looking for contributions from talented writers, filmmakers and other content creators.
We’re excited to announce our call for pitches from freelance writers, journalists, filmmakers, and other content creators who wish to speak about or reflect on issues of race, class, culture, and experiences of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) in Arkansas.
Authors of accepted pitches will be compensated after the full submission is accepted.
Topics can include politics, arts, music, culture, history, fashion, business, news, personal essay and interviews –- all centered on the Black or minority experience in Arkansas.
PAY SCALE FOR WRITERS AND CONTENT CREATORS*
- Reimagine Arkansas stories and content: $150 - $300
- Personal essays, first-person accounts, op-eds: $100 - $250
- Reported news stories: $150 - $250
- Feature stories: $150 - $250
- Profiles and interviews: $150 - $250
- Videos (2-3 minute minimum): $250 - $500
*Pay rates vary due to word length and writing/content creation experience. This pay scale applies after receipt and acceptance of FULL content submissions.
