We are looking for a contract writer (20-30 hours per week over 4-6 months) to produce a wide variety of optimized content for a new corporate website. The web content writing practices we are looking for include:

Succinct, fact-filled content
An engaging, active tone
Writing broken up by subheadings
Use of bulleted lists
Ability to work within limited character counts, where required
Embedded links throughout the text
Can search old content, upgrade and update content for refresh
Knowledge of standard writing practices including:
Basic Design Fundamentals
Web Optimization
SEO
Digital Content Management Systems (CMS) Note: New Horizons is using ContentStack

REQUIREMENTS

A thorough knowledge of standard writing practices is necessary for this role. Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, electronic media, and other mass communication and/ or tech-friendly writing disciplines can fulfill the educational requirements. Minimum 5 years work-related experience is required. Some background in understanding higher education courses and/or technology training is preferred. Specialized certificates in electronic writing and digital media production would be an asset.
