I'm open for pitches. I'm looking for long-form reported features with a connection to Washington (or the idea of Washington) or a domestic policy angle. It could be something at the intersection of pop culture and politics, and can come in different story forms, like a reported personal essay, cultural analysis, or a straightforward narrative.
Accepted pitches will end up going through the Talent Network. But if you're already in the system feel free to pitch me there.
I'll be reaching out to writers in mid-January. The magazine's rate is $1.50 a word for reported pieces, and a flat fee of $1,000 for essays that don't involve reporting. On the magazine, I'll be looking for long-form reported stories with a connection to Washington or "the idea of Washington" or a domestic policy angle.
