In my (new) role as editor-at-large, I’m looking to work with LGBTQ2 entertainment and culture writers. This is a thread detailing what I’m looking for and how to pitch me. Conduct yourselves accordingly.
What I’m looking for: Cultural commentary and analysis, Film/TV (Music, Art, Books, too) Criticism, Reported Features, Q&As, but only with super interesting folx I DO NOT want quick-hit efforts. Rates: Starting at $300. Negotiable based on story length, experience, deadline, etc.
Everything should be from an LGBTQ+ perspective. Bonus points for Black trans and queer imaginations. Both veteran and emerging journalists and writers are welcome to pitch. I will respond to most pitches within 48 hours. Only after 48 hours should you follow-up.
What goes in your pitch? Subject: Put a sample headline for your story here Body: Who are you? Describe the piece in no more than a couple grafs. Projected pub date? Details about your access. Desired rate? Link to a portfolio/website/writing samples.
