Gloria Media is a company with a high potential for development. Our mission is to reinvent the format of opinion pieces – through the newsletters – designed to bring current affairs up to date for an engaged community. Gloria Media currently produces four newsletters gathering a community of a hundred and fifty thousand readers. Gloria Media community of readers is very engaged, active, and involved in societal/grassroot debates such as equal pay for all genders, sexist and sexual violence, racism, and women’s rights. Gloria Media is an award winner of the Bourse Emergence from the French ministry of Culture and Communication.

LAUNCHING OF IMPACT, A FEMINIST INTERNATIONAL PRESS AGENCY

Gloria Media’s goal is to become an international press agency dedicated to feminisms named Impact. This is why we are looking for international correspondents around the world to cover feminist movements and decisions that impact women’s lives in their region. We will ask each correspondent to send news items on a weekly basis. These contents will be published in a dedicated Twitter account and Gloria Media newsletters, including on specifically dedicated Impact, and social media.

We are opening four positions for freelance journalists in the following areas : Africa, Asia, Latin America, North America.

Main Missions – Under the direct responsibility of the editor in chief, Impact’s international correspondent main missions will be the following:

• Monitor the latest news on feminist social movements and public decisions that impact on women in Europe
• Attend a weekly editorial conference with all the international correspondents to pitch stories
• Write several news items of 840 characters per week in French or English to be published on Gloria Media’s social networks and newsletters
• The journalist may be asked to participate in a quarterly event related to the IMPACT initiative and in close collaboration with the Gloria Media team

What we are looking for – Someone who is engaged and motivated. No need to be perfect, just to have a few skills:

• Have a network of sources in politics, civil society, NGOs, companies, activists, etc.
• Ability to produce quality content quickly and reactively
• Be rigorous, accurate and reliable, always checking sources
• Be able to find original and exclusive information
• Have judgment to prioritize information
• To be perfectly fluent in French or English (other languages are a plus)
• To follow closely feminist political movements in Europe and decisions that impact women
• To be a feminist (shocker) and to have a positive attitude!

Type of contract : freelance

Remuneration : 55€ (66$) gross / 1.500 characters

The hiring process will follow three steps and will take approximately two weeks :

• February 1-5: evaluation of the applications, selection of candidates for a 15 minute long phone interview with the editor in chief
• February 8-12: finalization and signature of a freelance contract
• February 15 : Starting day of the position
