Opportunity for journalists/subject matter experts: our startup is crowdsourcing publication pitches.
Who are we? A future-forward media startup creating hyper-targeted pubs for niche professional communities. Think Morning Brew or The Skimm but providing content that helps you do your day job better.
What should you pitch? A niche topic for the publication that caters to a specific professional (job function within a specific industry). Our existing publications: investor relations in private equity OR diversity in tech. We've looked at: SPACs, fashion, weed, water—you name it.
Why this biz? Mainstream journalism has catered to the many rather than the few—writing for everyone aka no one. If your pitch makes it past our team, it could land you as a contributor/EiC of a new publication.
If our team takes to your idea and you have expertise in the subject (including past reporting), we’ll pay for a longer term due diligence project on the pub idea. Range varies: $500-700 for notable expertise and 1-2 days worth of work.
