Pitches wanted (technology, culture) (worldwide) | 50+ cents per word

I want to read your pitches, but before you email me, a little about what we're looking for.
It's best if you familiarize yourself with the magazine before getting in touch. Broadly speaking, we're interested in stories at the intersection of technology and culture. And we cover fashion, streetwear in particular.
Before I get into some examples of the kind of stories we're looking for, I want to mention the kind of pitch I get too often: a topic, as opposed to a story. This NPR guide nicely lays out what makes a good pitch: https://training.npr.org/2017/01/24/what-makes-a-good-pitch-npr-editors-weigh-in/
Ideally, the pitch will be a few paragraphs laying out the story, characters, what kind of access you have, etc. Please only send one or two ideas per pitch! Generally, I don't want to see already completed drafts.
Anyway, that should give you a pretty good idea of what we're after. We are young (we just turned one in December), so we're still figuring out what works. So I'm very open to new ideas.
And now for the details you've been waiting for: We pay .50/word & up, depending on the idea, the writer's experience, difficulty of execution, etc. I'll attempt to give you a yes/no/maybe within 2 biz days.
