We're seeking pitches about NYC's mayoral primaries and how immigrant communities are reacting to the candidates. Send your ideas to us by email.
We're also open to pitches on anything within our subject area.
We pay 50 cents per word.
We are a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to covering New York City's immigrants and the policies that affect their lives. This means we cover anything related to how federal immigration policies are playing out locally (the Muslim ban, TPS, DACA etc.) or immigration enforcement (ICE activity, the immigration courts). Locally we cover any issue that affects immigrants or immigrant communities. On the labor front, we focus on industries that are largely staffed by immigrants (e.g. street vendors, delivery workers). We write about housing and health care access for immigrants.
We're open to any pitches on immigration or about immigrant communities in NY.
