The HigherEducation (H-E) content production team seeks skilled, fact-minded, and concise remote freelance writers. At H-E, we offer competitive base rates and potentially higher rates for special assignments.
REQUIRED
In addition to the standard expectation that writers possess a demonstrable mastery of English syntax, tone, and spelling, H-E expects all members of the HigherEducation Writer Network to possess at least two years of professional writing experience (in this case, professional means writing for pay).
HELPFUL
While not required, candidates with experience in the following sectors will receive particular consideration from the H-E hiring team at this time:
- The education industry, such as college instructors or advisors
- Healthcare
- Business and technology writing
PAY RATES
For this variety of generalist writing, H-E's base pay rate is 12 to 13 cents per word with the opportunity to earn more over time.
WHAT WOULD I BE WRITING ABOUT?
This varies, but typical topics include degree programs, careers, financial aid, and other elements related to higher education. Here are some examples of the type of content H-E produces:
- Top 10 Accelerated Online MBA Programs for 2021 | OnlineMBA.com
- Women in Computer Science: Getting Involved in STEM | ComputerScience.org
- Bookkeeper Career Overview | Accounting.com
SOUND LIKE A FIT?
If this sounds like a fit, please submit your resume and 1-2 related writing samples. Due to the high volume of responses, H-E will be unable to respond to each applicant. Please note that applications submitted without an attached resume and related clips will be automatically disregarded.
HigherEducation is a Red Ventures company.
