Pitches wanted (eating out in NYC, LA, Chicago, SF Bay, Miami, London) | $400-$500 per piece

We are a restaurant guide, review, news, and recommendations site that aims to help people make the best decisions possible for where and how they should be eating and drinking.

We’re expanding our scope in NYC, LA, Chicago, the SF Bay Area, Miami, and London and looking for freelance writers to contribute new guides covering what they’re most knowledgeable about or interested in. 

For any ideas that you’re interested in pitching, the guides should be well-researched and thorough - you’re the expert, show the reader why. Also, please only pitch ideas for the city you are currently based in.

What we’re looking for: Restaurant guides, cuisine guides, neighborhood guides, and other guides/features that accurately reflect what it’s like eating out in your city right now. For example, do you know the best outdoor date spots in The Bronx? What about where to get great tacos after midnight in East LA? Have you ranked all the best Paczki and pho in Chicago? Or maybe you have a running list of the best vegan restaurants in the East Bay. If so, we want to hear from you.

What we’re not looking for: Guides that we already have on the site - please take the time to look around and see if your idea already exists on the designated site for the city you’re interested in covering. Also, guides to cities that aren’t NYC, LA, the Bay Area, Chicago, London, or Miami. While there are other cities we cover, we’re exclusively looking for pitches centered around one of these six at the moment.

THE DETAILS:

• 500-2500 words in length, depending on the topic and extent. For instance, a super-specific guide to a certain food in one neighborhood is going to be much shorter than a more general guide covering an entire city.
• Principal byline names the contributor.
• Please feel free to submit multiple pitches at a time.
• $400-500 contributor fee depending on the scope.

What else you got? We’re open to folding in other formats and structures beyond guides and features that we currently publish on the site. We will be judicious about assigning such, and may take longer to consider. But feel free to pitch them!

Pitches should briefly explain the topic, angle, and scope (i.e. number of places you plan to include), plus details on timing of submission of copy; please also include links to your published work elsewhere.
