Pitches wanted (roots music) | 20 cents per word

I still need a few longer stories (~3k words) for the Fall 2021 issue. The issue theme is called “Ghosts.” Interpret that literally or figuratively in regards to roots music. Read on for more ideas and pitch guidelines:
Idea 1: I was hoping for at least one deep dive into some social/political/ musical (streaming/payola/radio homogeneity) issue that continues to “haunt” the industry. Ideally will also have a bent toward solutions.
Idea 2: I also dream of someone who is spiritually in tune (so to speak!) to get deep into some astrology/tarot/guide work re: roots musicians! Imagine the art! The possibilities!
Idea tk: Yours! Stories for our publication are long-form and multi-sourced. Try to highlight underreported issues, give voice to underrepresented roots musicians. Get smart! Get spooky for Fall 2021! Deadlines in May. Rate is 20¢ per word. We are published by a nonprofit. Rate isn’t flex.
