The Continent, the award-winning pan-African newspaper, published by The Adamela Trust with the Mail & Guardian, is seeking pitches for a new project.
The project, titled SADC Human Rights Defenders, is a series of profiles on individuals who are working to advance human rights in the SADC region - either independently or within an organisation.
We're interested in 600-word profiles on anyone you think deserves the spotlight for their work advancing human rights — this could be a human rights lawyer, activist, community worker, journalist or anyone else you think fits the bill.
We want a profile, with firsthand interviews and a good photograph, for individuals in each of the SADC's 16 countries. We will pay a fee of $250 per profile.
