We're taking a look at the history and impact of hip-hop feminism! We want pitches on its roots and evolution, how it's shown up in hip-hop music, its impact on modern culture and more from Black women and non-binary writers at all levels. Email a full draft or 150 words outlining your piece and writing samples if you have them to nadirahsimmons@thegumbo.net and bwhite@thegumbo.net with "July theme" in the subject line no later than June 11 at 11:59pm EST. Our rate is $175 for pieces that are between 750 and 1000 words. We get an extremely high volume of pitches. If you do not hear from us within a week, please feel free to pitch your piece elsewhere.
