We have a show in development and are looking to bring on a writer with playwriting experience, ideally with a focus on monologues and dialogue scenes. This is paid, not volunteer. We would especially like to hire a black or indigenous woman to work on this project - if you have any recommendations, please let me know.
EXPERIENCE
- Playwriting experience, ideally with a focus on monologues and dialogue scenes
- Libretto-writing and/or lyricist experience preferred, but not required
DUTIES
- Provide feedback and creative input on existing "acts" material, including monologues, scenes, and lyrics
- Develop and manage script-writing of three to five vaudeville-inspired acts in collaboration with existing co-writers and director
- Co-write lyrics to two songs in collaboration with composer Lacy Rose
COMPENSATION
- $500
TIMELINE
- Depending on COVID-19 restrictions, we will either present a semi-staged concert or a live stream of a semi-staged concert in November 2021.
- A final draft must be completed by October 1st, 2021 with a tentative first draft deadline of July 1st, 2021.
