Budget Travel is accepting pitches starting today and continuing through June 18.

We are looking for pieces from 1000-1500 words detailing travel in America in 2021. Our content is focused on finding great deals, traveling smart, traveling post-pandemic, and finding great things to do across the USA.

To pitch us, please include a short (one tweet length please!) description of your idea, and a short bio of you as a writer. Pitches should be emailed to pitch at budgettravel dot com.

Accepted pitches will be responded to the week of June 21. Unfortunately, due to volume, we cannot respond to every pitch received.

How much do you pay?

Starting rates are $.20/word and increase depending on the experience of the writer. There are additional opportunities to be paid for any photography that accompanies the piece.

How do I get paid?

We are using a software called Talent Desk to manage freelancer payment, taxes and information. Accepted writers should be on the lookout for an invite to Talent Desk.

Do you accept pitches outside the pitch window?

Only in rare cases when we have an established relationship with a writer will we accept pitches outside the window.

I am an international writer, can I still apply?

At this time, we are only accepting pitches from those currently domiciled in the United States.
